Tulip Table by Eero Saarinen (new and vintage)

Designer: Eero Saarinen

Knoll

Directors: Akiva Goldsman, Steven Spielberg, Matt Shakman

Designed in 1957 by the brilliant Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen for Knoll, the Tulip Table is part of his revolutionary Pedestal Collection—a response to what he famously called “the slum of legs” cluttering our interiors. His solution? A single, elegant stem that supports the surface in graceful balance, offering sculptural simplicity and visual calm.

The timeless Saarinen table is available in various heights, shapes and multiple diameters:
as a Dining Table for gathering
a Coffee Table for lounging
and a Side Table for perfect placement beside your favourite chair or sofa.

Each version features the same fluid pedestal base and comes in a variety of top finishes, from richly veined marbles and luxurious wood veneers to sleek, tactile laminates—all with durable, abrasion-resistant surfaces. Bases are made of cast aluminium and come in white, black or platinum powder-coated finishes.

The Tulip Table has made its mark in some of film and TV’s most memorable interiors:
A set of low Tulip Tables forms part of the retrofuturist living room in Fantastic Four: First Steps
It adds mid-century flair to Mad Men
Appears aboard the USS Enterprise in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

And even makes a cameo in Spielberg’s The Fabelmans

With its blend of innovation and beauty, the Tulip Table remains a shining example of modernist design—and a statement piece that looks utterly at home in both classic and contemporary interiors.
