The Gentlemen outdoor kitchen: The WildKitchen

Director: Guy Ritchie

The spectacular outdoor kitchen seen in The Gentlemen is the WildKitchen by Cashmere Caveman, a complete outdoor cooking, dining and entertaining space built around the fire-cooking table at its centre.

First associated with the world of Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen film, the set-up also appears in Netflix’s The Gentlemen TV series and in David Beckham’s Cotswolds garden in Beckham. It returns to the screen in The Gentlemen Season 2, where outdoor entertaining once again becomes part of the series’ distinctive country-house world.

The WildKitchen is designed as a year-round al fresco entertaining space, combining outdoor cooking, dining, seating and shelter beneath a fully retractable hardwood and canvas tent.

What is the outdoor kitchen in The Gentlemen?

The outdoor kitchen and retractable tent from The Gentlemen combine a large fire-cooking and dining table with seating, food and fuel storage and the distinctive retractable tent structure seen on screen.

At its centre is the 12-seater outdoor grill WildTable, where guests sit around the fire while food is cooked over the central fireboxes. Overhead, the retractable tent allows the space to change from completely open-air dining to a more enclosed and sheltered outdoor room.

The result is a particularly sociable way to cook. Fire, food and guests all remain in the same space, while the combination of the central fire and tent makes outdoor entertaining possible well beyond the usual summer months.

For anyone who watched The Gentlemen and wondered what the outdoor kitchen and tent were, this is the set-up seen in the series.

A year-round outdoor entertaining space

One of the cleverest aspects of the design is the ability to adapt it to the weather. The hardwood-and-canvas tent is fully retractable, so it can be opened for warm-weather dining and stargazing or enclosed to create a sheltered and more intimate setting when the temperature drops.

At the centre, the fire-cooking table provides both cooking heat and warmth for guests.

Having experienced the set-up first hand, Film and Furniture can see why it works so well as an outdoor room. There is theatre to cooking over fire, but the design also keeps the cook firmly involved in proceedings.

For The Gentlemen, where eating, drinking and doing business frequently occupy the same table, it feels particularly appropriate.

The outdoor grill table at the heart of The Gentlemen kitchen

At the centre of each Kitchen is the 12-seater outdoor BBQ grill table associated with The Gentlemen. It combines a dining table with fire cooking, allowing food to be grilled, fried, smoked, slow roasted, baked, steamed or boiled while everyone remains seated around the table.

We have a separate listing devoted to the table itself, including more details on how it works.
