Corona Lounge Chair (new)
Designer: Poul M Volther
Designed in 1962 by Poul Volther Erik Jørgensen Møbelfabrik, the Corona chair’s sculptured form combines aesthetic appeal with superb comfort. The distinctive elliptical sections are constructed of moulded plywood shells with CFC free cold cured foam. The Corona is light yet had a sculptural gravity.
This combination made Corona a star in countless movies, fashion series and music videos; in fact, Corona probably has the most impressive stage career of all Erik Jørgensen’s products. Corona’s success is partly due to its fusion of technical cool and warm and inviting form that refers directly to the human anatomy with its spine and ribs. The 4 star stainless steel base comes with a swivel mechanism.
Available in various leathers.
These chairs appear in pink in Casino Royale (1967), in blue in Carnal Knowledge and in white in Roger Sterling’s office in Mad Men.
