Eames: The Architect and The Painter

Designer: Charles and Ray Eames

Director: Jason Cohn

James Franco narrates this documentary about husband-and-wife design duo Charles and Ray Eames. Widely regarded as two of the 20th Century’s most important designers, they are perhaps best remembered for their plywood and fibreglass furniture, although the Eames Office also created many other products, from legs splints during World War II to photography, interiors, multimedia exhibits, graphics, games, films and toys. This film also looks at the Eames’s personal lives and their influence on the development of modernism and the rise of the computer age.
