Flowerpot Table Lamp
Designer: Verner Panton
Director: Luca Guadagnino
The Flowerpot table lamp is part of the celebrated Flowerpot collection designed by Verner Panton in 1968. Born at the height of the late-Sixties design revolution, its form — two perfectly balanced hemispherical shades — captured the optimism, experimentation and soft futurism of the era. Panton believed in creating joyful, democratic design, and the Flowerpot has become one of his most enduring and recognisable works, bringing gentle curves and sculptural warmth into homes across the world.
The original wired table lamp version continues to appear in beautifully curated interiors on screen, most recently in After The Hunt, where it can be spotted in Alma’s apartment — a fitting choice for a character whose environment signals cultivated intellect and modernist taste.
Alongside the classic version, the collection now includes the &Tradition Flowerpot VP9 — a portable reinterpretation that brings this design classic into the 21st century. Sleek, cordless and rechargeable, the VP9 stays faithful to Panton’s original geometry while offering modern flexibility. It has also found cultural resonance in Ted Lasso, seen in Rebecca Welton’s office — mirroring the way Panton’s designs signal confidence, warmth and quiet power.
Lightweight and easy to move from room to room or outdoors for evening drinks, the VP9 features a touch dimmer and USB charging cable, with up to 10 hours of battery life. It’s as practical as it is beautiful — a sculptural accent by day, an atmospheric companion by night.
Whether styled alone or grouped with other pieces from the Flowerpot collection, the VP9 feels timeless, soft and quietly joyful — proof that good design doesn’t age; it simply evolves.
