Why this Podcast?
We’ve been sharing stories here on the website about furniture, decor and lighting in film, but we wanted to show what we’re talking about in more detail, with moving image and film stills, and from the horse’s mouth. Film and interior design often go hand in hand, but the collaboration and work that goes into creating these iconic spaces often goes unseen. Our mission with The Film and Furniture Podcast is to shine a light on the unsung heroes behind the sets—exploring their creative process in more depth, the challenges they face, and how they transform a script into a visually rich experience.
In each episode, we’ll break down the intersection of cinema and design, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the real work that makes films unforgettable. We’ll discuss everything from the choice of furniture to colour palettes, spatial layouts, and the careful orchestration of set elements—all contributing to the emotional tone and storytelling of a film.
