Film and Furniture In the Press: GQ Magazine

Film and Furniture In the Press: GQ Magazine

British GQ have published a profile on Film and Furniture founder Paula Benson, discussing how and why she started the website and it’s a jolly good read!

Titled “Meet the woman who can turn your house into a Kubrick film set” the article goes on to discuss Benson’s own home which has become a kind of showroom for all things Film and Furniture.

“Walking into the living room of Paula Benson’s North London flat is like walking into a impeccably designed museum of film memorabilia. Not the kind of film memorabilia that occupies the basement floor of Hamley’s, however – this is not the place to go if you want to ogle at a replica of Professor Dumbledore’s wand – rather it’s the kind of furniture you see in films and wish could be housed in your own home. Look to your left and you’ll see Olivier Mourgue’s Djinn chair that sat in the Space Station V lobby in 2001: A Space Odyssey. Look to your right and you’ll find the Hacker Grenadier record player that featured in the Joy Division biopic Control. Cast your eye to the table and there sit the glasses that were used in Blade Runner, along with a set of cutlery that was also used in 2001: A Space Odyssey (“I haven’t even used them yet, I can’t bring myself to.”)”.
