Mid century Modern in the movies: Competition winner! (and don’t miss Modern Shows on 22 Nov)
Congrats to Mariam Cherian who wins the competition in our feature “Mid century Modern in the movies” to spot a Midcentury Modern piece of furniture in a movie.
Mariam identified a Cherner chair in Toy Story 2 and as she rightly points out: “It appears in the creepy collector’s flat! He loves all things mid-century including Woody but likes to keep them as new and doesn’t like anything touched! I guess it’s fine loving mid century stuff but these items were made to be used!”
Two tickets to the forthcoming Modern Shows in Dulwich, South London are winging their way to our competition winner now.
If you love furniture and design, the show which takes place twice a year in both South and East London, is a must! See details below and at Modern Shows website.
The brilliance of Pixar (the makers of Toy Story) and their attention to detail with furniture and set design is discussed in our feature The Incredibles – Mid Century Modernism exemplified and The legend of Lasseter and the Pixar Luxo lamp.
