Perch Tree Pendant Light by Moooi
Designer: Umut Yamac
Suspended in the grand entrance lobby of the Kell family’s cliffside mansion in Sirens, the Perch Tree Pendant Light by Moooi makes an unforgettable impression. As Michaela Kell and her assistant Simone glide through their imposing home on the fictional New England island of Port Haven, this poetic light feature glimmers above them—a centrepiece of quiet drama.
Designed by Umut Yamac in 2016, the Perch Tree is the largest piece in the Moooi Perch series. It features an elegant sculptural arrangement of delicate origami-like birds, each one perched on a branching brass frame. Gently illuminated, these stylised birds appear mid-movement—swaying softly with the breeze and bringing a sense of calm, wonder and refined surrealism to the space.
Drawing on Yamac’s fascination with kinetic design, the Perch Tree adds both presence and personality to an interior. It’s designed to anchor generous spaces: Think soaring entranceways, stairwells, hotel lobbies, or expansive dining areas. In Sirens, it reinforces the mood of the mansion—elegant, enigmatic, and perched on the edge of reality.
Part of a wider collection, the Perch range also includes a floor lamp, wall light, table lamp, and linear branch pendant—offering a harmonious lighting scheme for layered, cinematic interiors.
