When everyday objects collide with the weight of h When everyday objects collide with the weight of history…

In Paul & Paulette Take a Bath, a road trip in a VW Beetle leads the couple to Munich, to an apartment once inhabited by Adolf Hitler. The living room — with herringbone floors, midcentury chairs, a desk, and a striking floor lamp — may have been furnished long after his departure, yet the shadow of its past still lingers.

For the bathroom scene, director @jethromassey took inspiration from Lee Miller’s haunting photograph of herself in Hitler’s tub. Recreated with aged green tiles and a small handmade sculpture, it becomes one of the film’s most unsettling interiors.

Massey reflects: “Even this tiny sculpture carries the weight of history. It’s tactile, unsettling, and sets the tone for the scene.”

Read our full feature to see how the film transforms intimate interiors into witnesses of memory, trauma, and human fragility.

Floral fabric sofas are back — and as if to prov Floral fabric sofas are back — and as if to prove it, they take centre stage in Luca Guadagnino’s After the Hunt.

Known as the master of “luxury realism,” Guadagnino turns interiors into emotional battlegrounds in this psychological thriller with the help of production designer Stefano Baisi.
Academic halls and offices exude prestige while masking private tensions and domestic spaces layer intimacy with memory, power, and trauma.

👀 The fabric on this sofa looks very much like the William Morris print, GOLDEN LILY or maybe House of Hackney's reimagined version of it but surely @_benseena
or @houseofhackney will confirm 😉

@afterthehuntmovie premiered at Venice 2025 and arrives in cinemas this October.

💚 A Paris flat alive with history and desire… 💚 A Paris flat alive with history and desire…

In the film Paul & Paulette Take a Bath, the apartment Paulette (@benati_marie)
borrows from a friend is no ordinary backdrop. Antique furniture, velvet upholstery, vintage rugs, and a tactile rotary telephone create a rhythm that shapes the characters’ movements and conversations.

Director @jethromassey calls it “a serendipitous find, almost hidden, with that lived-in aura you can’t fake.” From its green-painted walls to the dim glow of a table lamp, every object resonates with memory – and with Paulette’s haunting stories of crimes once tied to the space.

Dive into our feature "The Intrigue of Memory, Objects and Locations in Paul & Paulette Take a Bath" to see how spaces in the film act as witnesses to history, shaping the characters’ exploration of memory, desire, and trauma.

One to watch in 2025… From Oscar-winning direct One to watch in 2025…

From Oscar-winning director Chloé Zhao comes Hamnet, a moving adaptation of Maggie O’Farrell’s bestselling novel.

Starring Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley, the film charts Shakespeare and his wife Agnes’s grief after the death of their young son — the tragedy that would inspire Hamlet.

With production design by @fiona_crombie_ (The Favourite), the film builds a richly atmospheric 16th-century world. Early stills reveal interiors and landscapes alive with texture, history, and symbolism — perfectly attuned to Zhao’s exploration of love, loss, and memory.

📅 Hamnet is set for release on December 12, 2025 (United States), and early reviews suggest it could be one of the year’s most powerful cinematic experiences.

Bond villains (and villains in IRL) may be hell be Bond villains (and villains in IRL) may be hell bent on world domination, but we’ve got our eyes on something far more stylish: that immaculate row of Steen Østergaard’s cantilevered 291 armchairs.

Spotted in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), these retro-futuristic beauties are a masterclass in sleek simplicity — injection-moulded in one single operation (a feat of engineering that, at the time, required the largest moulding tool ever made for nylon).

Stackable, antistatic, glossy, and glamorous, the 291 is as ready for a high-stakes control room as it is for your living room or garden. Proof, once again, that Bond doesn’t just do espionage — he does exquisite furniture too.

Would you sit down for world domination in one of these?
