📺 Good day at work? Severance is design as nar 📺 Good day at work?

Severance is design as narrative — and fresh from its Emmy wins (including for Production Design), we felt it was high time to give it the Film and Furniture treatment.

🪑 Mid-century design that feels covetable at home becomes uncanny at Lumon.
In the Severed Floor Reception, Henry Glass lounge chairs sit like silent judges — elegant silhouettes drained of comfort.

In the Wellness Room, innies endure Ms Casey’s “sessions” in Karpen of California Slipper Chairs. Their armless, low-slung elegance, once perfect for a bedroom corner, becomes a clinical tool of surveillance.

Even Dieter Rams’ Braun Hi-Fi Wall Unit Stereo embodies his “less but better” ethos. At Lumon, its quiet modernism is reframed as another emblem of control.

✨ Designs we’d gladly live with at home — made strange by Lumon’s world.

Production Designer Jeremy Hindle and set decorators Andrew Baseman (Season 1) and David Schlesinger (Season 2) created a world that is instantly recognisable yet deeply strange.

🎬 Read our latest FEATURE — Part 1 of our Severance design deep dive — over on the website where we identify the furniture and lighting across the innie world.
Created in partnership with our good friends at @hollowaysofludlow, who, like us, believe good design should be beautiful, functional and long-lasting.

📺 The work is mysterious and important. Severan 📺 The work is mysterious and important. Severance is design as narrative and we love it! Do YOU?

Fresh from its Emmy wins (including for Production Design), we felt it high time to give Severance the Film and Furniture treatment. From the Orientation Room, where Helly wakes on that long wooden table flanked by green chairs, to MDR’s infamous four-desk set-up with Bludot Daily Task Chairs, Lumon’s interiors are as memorable as the story itself. Identical workstations, blocky green screens and that endless Severance green carpet create a look at once corporate and uncanny.

On the Testing Floor, design history is pulled into Lumon’s orbit. Dieter Rams’ Braun Hi-Fi Wall Unit Stereo (1965) and Vitsoe 620 Chair Programme (1962) sit alongside Joe Colombo’s Universale Chair, Coupé Wall Light and Triedro Lamp. Schlesinger’s team even built modular sofas inspired by Claudio Vagnoni’s 1969 designs.

✨ These are design classics in their own right — celebrated by collectors and loved in homes worldwide — but within Lumon, they become part of a larger story about order, control and the future of work.

Production Designer Jeremy Hindle and set decorators Andrew Baseman (Season 1) and David Schlesinger (Season 2) created a world that is instantly recognisable yet deeply strange.

Every thriller needs the right stage — and The H Every thriller needs the right stage — and The Housemaid (@housemaidmovie) looks like it features a house we’re itching to get a proper look around.

That bold red front door, a cute attic room, sweeping open-plan living space, and lighting to die for — from the sculptural Coltrane Pendant Light to the striking Horsehair Pendant Lamp. Add in grand staircases, mirrored walls and those oh-so-perfect rooms… it’s luxury alright, but surely hiding something. 👀

Directed by @paulfeig, starring Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried, this new take on Freida McFadden’s bestselling thriller promises secrets behind every chandelier and shadows in every corner.

Beautiful. Uncanny. The kind of house that’s perfect… until it isn’t.

We’re all of a quiver. 💫 The new @wutheringhe We’re all of a quiver. 💫 The new @wutheringheightsmovie teaser has dropped — and one scene in particular has us swooning.

A candlelit chamber, dripping in excess, feels like a mash-up between two unforgettable design moments from Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey: the gilded Louis XVI hotel room and the gleaming red-and-white space station.

With Emerald Fennell (@emerald_fennell1) at the helm, Suzie Davies (@suziedav) (Saltburn, Conclave) as Production Designer, and Margot Robbie & Jacob Elordi bringing Cathy and Heathcliff to life, this adaptation promises to be anything but traditional. Expect obsession, surrealism and set design that blurs the line between dream and delirium.

🎬 Valentine’s 2026 can’t come soon enough.

Venice 2025 wraps with its usual splendour, and on Venice 2025 wraps with its usual splendour, and once again the festival reminds us that cinema here is not just narrative but a showcase of environments — interiors that carry as much meaning as the characters inhabiting them.

In Marc by Sofia, @sofiacoppola turns her restrained, aesthetic lens onto fashion designer Marc Jacobs. Studios, showrooms, and creative workspaces are filmed as cinematic interiors – archives of creativity where sketches, fabrics, and personal objects become as telling as the clothes themselves. It plays as an essay in how creative environments reveal the character of their inhabitant.

The film is an intimate portrait of Marc Jacobs, made by Coppola without a strict script or plan, drawing heavily on their long friendship and his process leading up to his Spring 2024 fashion show.

Venice premiere: September 2, 2025 (presented out of competition)
Further release dates: TBC

🏰 Can you name the film from the first interior 🏰 Can you name the film from the first interior before you scroll/read on?

Few film houses are as instantly recognisable as the von Trapp villa in The Sound of Music. Yet the “house” we know from screen magic is in fact three Salzburg locations in one: the elegant Leopoldskron Palace for lake and terrace scenes, Frohnburg Palace for the grand façade, and studio sets in Hollywood for interiors.

As Rodgers & Hammerstein’s masterpiece celebrates its 60th anniversary, Disney has unveiled a dazzling new 4K Ultra HD™ edition (out 27 October), lovingly restored to showcase every mountain peak, every waltz in the ballroom, and every heartfelt note of Do-Re-Mi.

This collector’s release includes hours of bonus features, a sing-along version, and exquisite artcards – a keepsake worthy of Maria, the Captain, and seven spirited children. Whether you’ve watched a hundred times or are discovering it anew, this edition brings the villa and the Alps into your living room like never before.

🎬✨ Here’s to six decades of one of cinema’s most enduring musicals, where houses, mountains, and music are forever alive.

As Venice Film Festival closes its doors for anoth As Venice Film Festival closes its doors for another year, we’re reminded how the festival has become a screen gallery of design as much as film — a place where interiors, spaces, and atmospheres are as integral as storylines and performances.

Take Yorgos Lanthimos’s Bugonia, where production designer James Price (@jamesroberternestprice) contrasts lived-in, ’90s-inspired homes with gleaming corporate interiors and a CEO’s palatial apartment. The result is a visual battleground of class, control, and ideology.
Emma Stone leads the cast alongside Jesse Plemons.
