In our latest Film and Furniture Podcast, Schlesinger reveals how Severance’s unnerving world drew from mid-century corporate modernism — tracing a direct line from Eero Saarinen and Kevin Roche’s architecture at Bell Labs (the real Lumon HQ) to Warren Platner’s sculptural furniture designs.

The Platner desk, first created for Saarinen and Roche’s John Deere HQ in the 1960s, sits inside Lumon’s Management Office — its aluminium base and wooden top becoming symbols of power, precision and control.
