Priscilla: Recreating the luxurious midcentury interiors of Graceland.
Production Designer Tamara Deverell drew inspiration from three pivotal photographs in recreating the interior design and decor, to capture the essence of Priscilla’s time at Graceland. The colour palette exudes elegance, featuring creamy whites, soothing blues, and opulent golds, creating a visually stunning and luxurious abode.

Priscilla: Recreating the luxurious midcentury interiors of Graceland.
Many of the exquisite decor pieces showcased in Sofia Coppola's Priscilla were specially crafted for the purpose of filming, including the living room sofa and Elvis’s iconic white piano. However, when it came to Elvis’s bedroom, the art department faced a challenge due to the scarcity of available imagery. They decided to embrace a “dark man-cave” aesthetic, incorporating blacks, blues, and golds, with padded leather doors and sumptuous velvet drapery, creating an intimate and mysterious escape from reality. Intriguingly, amidst the gold flock wallpaper, dark brown carpet, and ornate wooden furniture, a Jesus statue and a striped tiger sculpture add a touch of eccentricity.

Priscilla: Recreating the luxurious midcentury interiors of Graceland.
Set in the 1960s and 1970s, Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla delves into the world of Elvis Presley’s Memphis mansion, Graceland. For the purposes of filming however, Production Designer Tamara Deverell and her team recreated the iconic home, with a touch of creative interpretation, in Toronto.

Drawing inspiration from Priscilla Presley’s memoir, Elvis and Me, published in 1985, the film chronicles the tumultuous romantic relationship between Priscilla Presley (portrayed by Cailee Spaeny) and the legendary Elvis Presley (played by Jacob Elordi).

Step into the world of The Crown: Experience the craftmanship and creativity behind The Crown with a special exhibition of the sets, costumes and props from series 1–6, touring New York, Los Angeles, Paris and London—ahead of two auctions at Bonhams in February 2024.

The auction includes the the only known replica of the Saint Edward's Chair (The Coronation Chair) which the art department at The Crown commissioned for Season 1, Episode 5, Smoke and Mirrors.
.
Gold-painted and simulated oak fibre-glass throne faithfully recreated after the Gothic original, the arched panelled back with downswept arms mounted with tan leather, with Gothic arched panelled sides above a solid seat and pierced quatre-foil frieze enclosing a fibreglass copy of the Coronation Stone of Scone (Stone of Destiny), supported by four lions on a plinth base, with red velvet upholstered squab cushions, together with golden canopy used during the filming of the scene, with turned handles, to be held by bearers; and the Art Department design drawing for the Coronation canopy

🎶 'The Playlist' on Netflix is inspired by the book 'Spotify Untold' and tells the story of young Swedish tech entrepreneur, Daniel Ek, and his key partners who revolutionised the music industry through free and legal streaming when they launched Spotify.
👀 In the episode 'The Industry' we get a good look around the series’ take on Swedish music mogul Per Sundin’s (played by Ulf Stenberg) beautiful home.
🪑 In his wood panelled office we find some brown leather Barcelona chairs and an Eames Lounge chair.
💡In his son’s bedroom we spotted a Bud grande floor lamp by Harvey Guzzini designed in the 1970s, and a Bertoia diamond chair.
🔎 In this same episode he and his family attend a party at the stunning home of an architect friend. Here, an argument ensues about the architect's blatant use of Pirate Bay, but we still managed to catch site of a striking set of Series 7 chairs by Arne Jacobsen around the dining table, a Panathella table lamp by Verner Panton and an Arco floor lamp.

🩰 A new exhibition at London's BFI Southbank immerses you in Powell and Pressburger’s mesmerising 1948 production The Red Shoes.
Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s classic fairy tale, The Red Shoes tells the story of a young woman whose desire is to become a leading dancer. Victoria Page (played by prima ballerina Moira Shearer) secures a transformative role at the Ballet Lermontov, that of a girl beguiled by a pair of magic red slippers.
The exhibition includes THE red ballet shoes from the film (owned by Martin Scorsese).
