John Rankin Waddell, also known under his working name Rankin, is a British portrait and fashion photographer, and his series of nudes are well known.

He created a number of jigsaw puzzles from the provocative photograph of model with toy crocodile.

Rankin was co-founder of Dazed & Confused magazine, the influential style magazine that covers music, fashion, film, art, and literature. In December 2000 Rankin launched his own quarterly fashion magazine, Rank. He also publishes AnOther Magazine, AnOther Man and in 2011 founded Hunger, a website and biannual fashion, culture and lifestyle magazine.
