Arne Norell Ari chair and ottoman as seen in The Romantic Englishwoman

The Ari chair and ottoman is perhaps Arne Norell’s most beautiful and luxurious design created in 1966 and is favoured by Lewis (Michael Caine) and Elizabeth (Glenda Jackson) for their grand living room in The Romantic Englishwoman. Lewis is seen sitting in the Ari chair in several key scenes.

This chair and ottoman is made in exclusive Scandinavian leather and combined with an elegant chrome plated frame.

Ari was awarded “Showpiece of the year” in 1973 by the British Furniture Manufacturers in London.

New and vintage originals are available from Film and Furniture.

New chairs are handmade in Sweden with great care, all according to Arne Norell’s original drawings.

The premium leather is from Tärnsjö Garveri, Sørensen, Elmo, and Ca-mo in a variety of colours. The frame comes in satin or gloss finish.
