With a tagline that reads “an occasionally true story”, The Great offers us a left field view of what life was like for Catherine the Great, Empress of Russia living in the court of her husband Peter III of Russia before she over threw him and took over power to become the country’s longest-ruling female leader. Full of profanity, pace and perceptive production design, we loved it.
