In Bob Dylan’s apartment in A Complete Unknown, we find a 1960s Olivetti Lettera 32 typewriter—an iconic vintage piece that captures the essence of 60s cool. While it's possible Dylan’s actual typewriter was a Lettera 22, the film’s set decorator @reginamgee chose the 32 for its functionality on screen.

Did you know? The very first Eames lounge chair and ottoman was designed in the 1950’s by Charles and Ray Eames as a gift for Billy Wilder, the director of the classic film Some Like It Hot.

It has gone on to be one of the most iconic creations in the furniture world.

Charles and Ray Eames’ furniture feature in multiple movies: When film set decorators need to convey a character’s good taste and style or when they simply need an extremely handsome piece in a domestic or office setting, we’ll often spot an Eames creation and more than often a classic Lounge chair.

This, the most famous and desirable of all Eames has been featured in film and TV programmes as diverse as House of Gucci, in Tony Stark’s mansion in Iron Man, Click (2006), Sunday in New York (1963), The Ghost Writer (2010), Frasier, Gossip Girl (where it was recovered in a gorgeous Missoni fabric), Hope Springs (2012), the Korean movie The Housemaid (2010), a white version in Tron Legacy (2010), Closer (2004) and even in the animated spy comedy Archer.

Featuring an elegant shape crafted from an array of wood veneers in two sizes, the Eames Lounge Chair is bound to become the centre-piece of any room. Now, this chair is produced using virtually the same methods from its original creation.

When film production designer Sarah Greenwood and set decorator Katie Spencer were first asked to curate an exhibition of their work, they thought it was a joke! Fast forward two and a half years, and their stunning exhibit, Barbie to Anna Karenina: The Cinematic Worlds of Sarah Greenwood and Katie Spencer, is now open at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures (@academymuseum) in Los Angeles.

The exhibition offers an immersive look at their 25-year collaboration, featuring set pieces, sketches, models, and an exclusive “Blank Space” showcasing how ideas evolve from concept to reality. Swipe for a reminder of their creativity!

Visitors can check out Weird Barbie's 3D heist map, take a photo in Barbie’s 1956 Chevrolet Corvette, explore a crystal bell jar from Beauty and the Beast and much more...

🪑 Marc Newson’s Gluon chair and footstool, alongside his Orgone Chair, make unforgettable appearances in Ridley Scott’s Prometheus (2012), adding a sleek, futuristic touch.

Conceived in 1993, the Gluon chair is a modular design that can be configured into longer sofas or benches. The clever void in the centre acts as an air cushion, enhancing comfort. Produced in two versions – one with four legs for commercial spaces like airports, and one with a pedestal base for home use – the Gluon is as functional as it is striking.

The name "Gluon" comes from the elementary particle that acts as an exchange particle, reflecting Marc Newson’s fascination with modularity.
