Tulip chair by Eero Saarinen (vintage)

Designer: Eero Saarinen

Knoll

Director: Steven Spielberg

Considered one of the great icons of design, Eero Saarinen’s Tulip chair is characterised by the instantly recognisable cup-shaped frame, emphasised by the reduction of support to a single stem.

Designed in 1957 as part of the famous Pedestal collection, that vowed to address the ‘ugly, confusing, unrestful world’ underneath tables and tables, the Tulip chair consists of a sweeping base of die-cast aluminium lacquered in white and is coated with a protective layer.

Printed with the designer’s signature positioned under the base to certify authenticity, the Tulip Chair is a unique and timeless icon that is sure to steal the spotlight in any living space.

The Tulip chair by Eero Saarinen appears in Star Trek Strange New Worlds.

Other kinds of Tulip chair – the Tulip Chair 115 designed by Maurice Burke for Arkana and the Tulip Chair 116 designed by Maurice Burke for Arkana appear in Star Trek The Original Series.
