Harold Meachum’s table lamp from the Iron Fist film set

Harold Meachum’s table lamp from the Iron Fist film set

In Iron Fist, the fourth in the live action Marvel Netflix series, the film set of Harold Meachum’s Manhattan lair is beautiful and extravagant. Reminiscent of a cathedral with high arches and stone walls, the set design comprises a central lounge area, a private office/library to one side and a raised dining area. Large, well lit paintings including a Rembrandt painting stolen in real life from the Cooper Museum in Boston (so that’s where it went!), a glass-encased indoor plant atrium and the bronze-based table lamps all caught our eye.

Father of Joy Meachum and (in this version) Ward Meachum, a sinister businessman and foe of Iron Fist, Harold Meachum exercises control over others from this lair. As with many noteable villains, he displays a very specific architectural and interior design taste. Given that he doesn’t venture out, it is a nest of comfort and sophistication where he can hide away and weave webs of deceit. As with the rest of this Marvel series, Production Designer Loren Weeks, Art Director Toni Barton and Set Decorator Stephanie Bowen have created a clever film set which gives us many visual clues.

The lamp seen next to Meachum (David Wenham) above is a Visual Comfort Dixon Tall Table Lamp in hand rubbed antique bronze and brass with dark bronze shade. He has several of these eye catching and sophisticated lights in his apartment and what’s more with the film crew’s help, we have been able to source them for you.
